World War I Propaganda

 What is propaganda?

Propaganda is the manipulation of public opinions, usually done through media which can easily reach large groups of people. Some people argue that persuasive communication is propaganda, while others believe it only alters political opinions. Propaganda often varies through form and technique but it always serves the same purpose. Propaganda is communication for the purpose of persuasion.

Why they used posters and music?

During WWI mainly posters and music were used as propaganda because they did not have T.V or other varieties of media sources. No one had a phone or computer, so the only way they would get information was through the images they saw and the things they heard on the radio's. Posters where the most highly effective way of getting the message across to people, not everyone owned a radio. Posters usually had women and children and often showed a women being harassed by a 'Hun' or german, they did this to enrage the men to make them want to fight to protect their wife and children
